Gene Browne
CEO
Gene Browne co-founded The City Bin Co. in 1997 and has led the company from that date. Gene is a Quality Engineer and previously held the position of Quality Manager in service and manufacturing companies before setting up his own consulting firm in 1994 specialising in Business Excellence.
Gene is currently an Adjunct Lecturer at J.E. Cairnes School of Business & Economics, National University of Ireland, Galway (NUIG). Gene holds an MBA from NUIG and an MSc in Executive Leadership from Ulster University, Belfast. He is also an active member of The Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO), twice sitting on the European Board.
Gene is a previous winner of the Young Entrepreneur of the Year and Marketing Person of the year.
Niall Killilea
Managing Director
Niall Killilea joined The City Bin Co. as General Manager in 2003 and was promoted to MD in 2007. Niall is responsible for delivering on The City Bin Co.’s business plan, as well as management, financial and operating goals. Niall has presided over an eightfold increase in revenue.
Prior to joining The City Bin Co., Niall was responsible for Business Development at the Galway City Chamber of Commerce and during his early career worked for the Department of Transport at the European Commission in Brussels. In the last few years Niall has spent significant period in the Middle east leading the turnaround of some of Averda’s underperforming businesses.
Niall holds a B.Comm and an MBA degree from NUIG and was appointed to the board of The City Bin Co. in 2007.
Louise Niemann
CFO
Louise joined The City Bin Co. in 2013 and is a results-driven financial executive with a track record of successfully delivering strategic plans and driving profitable growth in developed and emerging markets.
Trained and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Deloitte in South Africa before working in London as a Structure Finance Analyst for JP Morgan, European Strategy Manager for New Look PLC, and as Finance Director for Veredus, after the Capita plc. acquisition. Louise has lived and worked in South Africa, UK, Ireland, Belgium, Turkey, and more recently she supported The City Bin Co. team in the Middle East.
Louise holds an MBA from London Business School, with distinctions in Corporate Finance, Venture Finance, and Financial Analysis.
